PPG Appoints James Bogdan as Manager of Green Building Initiatives

In response to market demands for environmentally-friendly building products, PPG Industries of Pittsburgh, has named James J. Bogdan as manager of sustainable design and green building initiatives. In this newly-created position, Bogdan will accelerate PPG's growth in the commercial construction market and position the company as a premier provider of glass, coatings and paints to the green construction industry.

In this role, he will serve as a conduit between practitioners of sustainable design and PPG's Performance Glazings, Architectural Coatings and Industrial Coatings businesses. He will serve the sustainable design community by identifying new green building trends and opportunities and translating them into new products and services for green architects, designer and construction professionals.

Bogdan has had a 15-year career in the environmental, health and safety (EH&S) industry. He joins PPG after holding EH&S consulting and marketing positions with the architectural/engineering firm of L. Robert Kimball and Associates Inc., and international safety product manufacturer Draeger Safety Inc., respectively.

A graduate of Slippery Rock State University in Pennsylvania, Bogdan also holds a Master's degree in environmental management from Duquesne University. He also is a Qualified Environmental Professional through the Institute of Professional Environmental Practice.
