NWDA Announces Seminar Speakers and Topics
The Northeastern Window and Door Association has announced the speaker line-up
for its 2007 Educational Seminar. The deadline to register for the seminar, which
will be held September 26 at Architectural Testing Inc.'s (ATI) facility in York,
Pa., is Friday, September 21.
John Woestman, codes and regulatory manager for the Window and Door Manufacturers
Association (WDMA), will present "Code Concerns: What the Fenestration Industry
Needs to Know and How Your Company will be Impacted in Regard to Structural and
Energy Codes Spreading up the Coast." Woestman joined WDMA earlier this year
after 20+ years with Pella Corp. in various roles in manufacturing, human resources
and marketing. He most recently served as Pella's codes compliance manager responsible
for short-term and long-term code compliance strategies and implementation.
Margaret Webb, CHRP, of the Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance (IGMA),
and Tom Gallagher of Spectra Gases will present "Gas Content, the Latest
Research: The Validity and Use of the GasGlass Device, the Development of the
New Standard for Gas Retention and Data Collection on Gas Content Levels after
Weather Cycling."
Webb is the executive director of IGMA and the ISO management representative
for IGMA's ISO 9000 quality management system. Gallagher serves as vice president
of Spectra and has more than 39 years in the compressed gas industry.
Representatives from ATI will discuss recent trends in the industry, including
"Forensics: Defending Manufacturers Legally," "Testing for the
Impact Needs of Florida vs. the Remainder of the Country" and "New Testing
Trend: Varying Sizes to Different Design Pressures vs. the American Architectural
Manufacturers Association Gateway Size."
