NFRC Approves New Bi-Lingual Label
The National Fenestration Rating Council's (NFRC) board of directors approved a new bi-lingual label during its summer meeting, held July 25 - 28 in Quebec City, Quebec-Canada.
"The new label allows both English and French language to appear simultaneously and should increase understanding and usage of the label in French-speaking areas such as in Canada," said Jim Benney, NFRC executive director.
The new provisions are now permitted for use and will become mandatory for newly-printed multilingual labels on or after October 1, 2005 and mandatory for all labels on July 1, 2006. The changes will be reflected in Appendix B of the product certification program.
During the meeting, the board also changed the cycle for updating technical procedures from three years to five years, but reserved the right to make changes at any time.
