Milgard Manufacturing Mourns Passing of Co-Founder
Gary Milgard, 69, co-founder, chief executive officer and chairperson of the board for Milgard Manufacturing died yesterday, July 13, after a long illness. Memorial services have not yet been scheduled, according to the company.
Milgard, a resident of Tacoma, Wash. and Palm Springs, Calif., is survived by his wife Carol Berry Milgard, son Mark, daughters Cari and Lori and his brother Jim.
Gary Milgard and his father, Maurice Milgard, Jr., founded Milgard Glass Co. in 1958. In 1962, Gary Milgard founded Milgard Manufacturing, which was purchased by Michigan-based Masco Corp. in 2001.
Milgard served as president of the company from its inception until 2003, and
continued to serve as chairperson and chief executive officer until his death.
He is known for his generosity to employees and to the communities in which the
company operated. Gary Milgard's legacy of extraordinary customer service and
his commitment to developing the potential of the people who worked for him continued
throughout his career, according to a company release.
