IWF 2008 Obtains International Foreign Buyer Program Status from
DOC
The Atlanta-based International Woodworking Machinery & Furniture Supply
Fair-USA (IWF) has been selected to participate in the U.S. Department of Commerce's
(DOC) 2008 International Buyer Program. Under this program, the department's U.S.
Commercial Services recruits foreign buyers' delegations from U.S. embassies abroad
and brings them to tradeshows in the United States to facilitate matchmaking with
American businesses exhibiting at the show. The International Buyer Program provides
U.S. companies interested in exporting with an excellence opportunity to meet
with potential sales representatives and strategic partners without ever leaving
the country.
"Ninety-five percent of the world's consumers are outside of the United
States and U.S. businesses need to think globally to expand their market share[s],"
says U.S. Commercial Service representative Joseph English. "The International
Buyer Program can save U.S. firm[s] valuable time and resources in meeting potential
foreign buyers."
The next IWF be held August 20-23, 2008, at the Georgia World Congress Center
in Atlanta. A special seminar targeted at door and window manufacturers, will
also take place during the show, sponsored by DWM magazine.
