IWF 2008: Off to an Impressive Start

The International Woodworking Machinery and Furniture Supply Fair-USA® has completed the initial booth assignments for IWF 2008, with more than 960 companies assigned more than 764,000 net square feet of exhibit space. The initial assignment representing only previous exhibitors puts IWF 2008 on track to be at least double the size of any similar industry event in North or South America.

IWF will hold its biennial event on August 20-23, 2008, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

"This strong response by our previous exhibitors shows that IWF continues to be the predominant show in our industry worldwide for sales and marketing of products for woodworking and related manufacturing," said Charles R. (Tommy) Tomkins, IWF 2008 chairman and president of Cresent Fine Furniture Co., based in Gallatin, Tenn. "IWF is known throughout the world as a buying show with over 51 percent of the buyers holding top management positions within their company. They know that, by attending IWF they will see the most innovative products available, which will allow them to compete in a fast-changing environment."

IWF 2008 will present programs geared to meet challenges facing the industry and provide solutions that will impact the industry's bottom line. A technical conference program will provide answers from industry leaders, a showcase for new product development at the new product showcase, the Challengers Distinguished Achievement Award® and a student design emphasis competition.
