Nordson Presents Adhesive Technology Advancements at Adhesive and Sealant Council’s Fall Convention & Expo Nordson Corp. is presenting the latest adhesive industry advancements in sustainability, photovoltaic module assembly and hot melt technology at the Adhesive and Sealant Council’s (ASC) Fall Convention & Expo. The event, entitled “Creating a Sustainable Business,” will is taking place in Baltimore currently and runs through tomorrow, October 14, at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. Nordson’s participation include four featured speakers. Rick Pallante, marketing manager for Nordson’s adhesives group, will be speaking on Oct. 14, 2008, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. during the conference’s Educational Sessions. His presentation, “Achieving Sustainability through Adhesive Dispensing Technology,” will cover various hot melt adhesive trends, equipment and applications that can be used to effectively apply adhesives which can help minimize the environmental impact of the manufacturing processes and improve the bottom line. On the same day, from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., “Sealing a Path to Grid Parity with Solar Energy – Automating Adhesive and Sealant Dispensing Technology to Improve Payback of Photovoltaic (PV) Module Assembly,” will be co-presented by Todd P. Romanski, market development manager for the North America Adhesives Division, and Kai Kroeger, market development manager for the European Adhesives Division. This presentation will discuss new and ongoing developments in sealants and related application technologies that have the potential to meet the challenge of reducing production costs for photovoltaic (PV) modules. Larry Saidman, marketing technology manager at Nordson, is presenting an “Overview of Hot Melt Application Equipment” today as part of the ASC’s Hot Melt Short Course, which runs from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. His presentation will address the following topics: adhesive melters, guns, fill systems, timers and application techniques (including bead, dot, spray and contour coat.)
