The Door Guardian™ For Door and Window Manufacturers

Reinforcement locks and patio door locks from Canadian-based Meranto Technology Inc. are now available at the door and window manufacturing level as well as the retail level. The Door Guardian, which has been available to retailers for five years, has recently opened its market to include the manufacturers of doors and windows, according to a company representative.

The inside-of-door locks are designed to give added security and resist forced entry. Its patented spring-activated design allows the user to push the lock into place and disengage it by moving it out of the locked position.

The Door Guardian reinforcement line includes a deadbolt lock, a door lock and a strikeplate lock. Each product is easy to install, childproof and designed to replace a chain lock, according to the company.

The patio door version of the Door Guardian uses a pin collar to deter prying or lifting of the door. A metal pin in the upper track resists horizontal forcing. Additionally, a removable cover allows it to be used on left to right or right to left sliding doors.
