Crystal Window & Door Systems Places Art Collection on Display

Flushing, N.Y.-based Crystal Window & Door Systems has announced that part of the personal art collection of its president, Thomas Chen, will be the upcoming feature exhibit of the Lunar New Year Celebration at Flushing Town Hall. For the entire month of February, Chen’s antique Chinese wooden door and window collection will be on display. Crystal will celebrate the Lunar New Year at Flushing Town Hall on February 9, 2008, with an invitation-only evening reception highlighted with a performance by internationally renowned violinist Christopher Wong.

The Crystal antique Chinese wooden door and window collection is comprised of more than 100 original pieces preserved from various structures in Mainland China. Information on the history of Chinese doors and windows as they relate to Chinese culture and philosophy accompanies the exhibit.

“Most people would not consider building products works of art, but I was captivated by the beauty and craftsmanship of the wooden doors and windows I saw when I traveled in China,” says Chen.
