Florida Building Code Commission Work Groups Meet, Tackle Variety of Topics

Dick Wilhelm, executive director of the Fenestration Manufacturers Association, attended the recent meeting of the Florida Building Code Commission's work groups, including the windows and water intrusion work group.

One of the topics the windows and water intrusion work group tackled on May 31 was issues involving the requirements for labels, such as a standardized format for all third- party certification labels, sufficient size for labels to allow inspectors to view without the aid of a magnifying glass and how installation information be a part of a supplemental label.

The product approval and validation work group met on June 1 and looked at options for improving the validation process addressed the four methods of product approval, a continuation of its last meeting.
