Bilco Announces Plans for New Ohio Facility

The Bilco Co., a West Haven, Conn.-based manufacturer of specialty access products for the residential and commercial building markets, will build and operate a blowmolding facility in Zanesville, Ohio.

The new facility will manufacture the company's line of polyethylene products: the Ultra Series Basement Door and the ScapeWEL® Window Well, for the residential building market. These products are currently manufactured under an outsourcing arrangement with a blowmolder in Buffalo, N.Y.

Zanesville was selected for its location in the Midwest, a market with a strong demand for basement related products. In addition it's proximity to Midwest customers, the Zanesville location offers freight, utilities and other operating cost advantages. Construction of the new 75,000-square-foot facility is scheduled for completion early next year.

"We are very excited about building and operating a blowmolding facility in Zanesville, Ohio. We look forward to working with and being a part of the Zanesville community," said Robert Lyons, Jr., president of The Bilco Co. "This new operation will provide us the opportunity to grow our business and serve our customers in the region more cost effectively and efficiently."
