ASTM Releases ISO Standards Comparative Guide

The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) based in Bethesda, Md., has released its ASTM - ISO Standards Comparative Guide. This guide provides a general comparative reference of adhesive testing standards between ASTM International standards and related International Standards Organization (ISO) standards. The study is focused on ICS field 83 (rubber and plastics), section 83.180 (adhesives) within the overall ISO structure.

ASC commissioned Chemsultants Inc. to develop the initial repository of knowledge deemed to be useful in identifying key similarities and differences between the comparable adhesive testing methods of the two international standards bodies. It is limited to an overall focus specific to general adhesive testing methods and does not purport to address adhesive testing methodologies that may be inherent in the overall standards of/for specific industries or applications such as building materials, furniture, footwear, or others.
