AEC to Hold Educational Course in Conjunction With ET ’08

The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) will be holding its course titled “Extrusion Excellence: Applied Fundamentals for Aluminum Extruders” during ET ’08– the Ninth International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminar & Exposition. The course will be held on Tuesday, May 13, at the Gaylord Palms Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. ET ’08 will run May 13-16.

The one-day course will cover the essentials of the aluminum extrusion process and will be taught by Dr. Wojciech Misiolek, director of the Institute for Metal Forming (IMF) at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Misiolek on board once again to lead this course at ET,” says AEC chairman Craig Werner, president of Werner Extrusion Solutions LLC in Lake Forest, Ill.  “Dr. Misiolek will be discussing the theory and practice of aluminum extrusion focusing on a practical engineering approach. Extrusion Excellence has become one of the Council’s most popular educational events because of the valuable course content developed by knowledgeable industry experts and honed by Dr. Misiolek.”

Topics of the course will include: extrusion concepts; aluminum extrusion alloys; aluminum billet metallurgy; extrudability; metal flow analysis; extrusion dies; quality assurance and potential trends in the aluminum extrusion industry.

Registration is limited to 30 participants, and a discount on the course registration fee is available to those who wish to register for both the workshop and ET ’08.
