Wood Council Updates Website; Considers Green

The Wood and Cellulosic Composite Council, chaired by Bob Simon of Gossen Corp., met yesterday to go over its work during the meeting. One item of interest was the development of the group's website, which soon will have an image gallery to show others the benefits of wood and composite frame systems. In addition, the possibility of forming a green and sustainability to address green aspects of wood and cellulosic composite materials was discussed, but no action was taken. Simon noted that he recently re-wrote the group's "green statement" and will distribute this to members as a reminder.

Teri Tucker of Pella also expressed concern about the council's future-and present-since composites and wood have been combined into one council.

"We need to make sure we're promoting both wood and composite materials, and I'm not sure we're there yet," she said.
