WDMA Introduces OneVoice Advocacy System
The Window & Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) has announced
the development of phase two of its OneVoice Advocacy System.
The OneVoice Advocacy System will be a fully-integrated capability
that brings together critical processes, a dedicated team and web-based
technology to facilitate overall advocacy efforts in the door, window
and skylight industry. The platform will provide WDMA members and other
key players in the industry unique access to legislative and regulatory
information, allowing the community as a whole to quickly come together
on common positions and execute advocacy strategies from the standpoint
of a single "voice," according to the association.
WDMA's OneVoice Advocacy System is designed to transform the way advocacy
is handled in the industry. Each member will have an equal opportunity
to provide individual input and get involved in addressing key issues
affecting their businesses. The system will significantly improve the
speed with which members can understand issues, prioritize what is most
important, develop positions around those issues and manage the execution
of advocacy efforts to achieve positive outcomes.
"This is exactly what our industry needs," says John Stoiber,
WDMA President. "OneVoice will allow our window, door and skylight
members 24/7 access to information about issues that matter most to their
businesses and will ensure that all interested parties are being heard.
Issues that are considered to be of top importance to members are prioritized,
allowing WDMA to quickly identify the specific strategy or approach necessary
to act quickly."
"WDMA has completed phase one of the design of this new capability,
and the development of phase two will be a critical step for capturing
the collective voice of our industry," adds Steve Tourek, senior
vice president and general counsel for the Marvin Companies and WDMA chairman.
"The OneVoice capability will give our members an even more influential
leadership position in advocating for our industry in what is certain
to become a more active regulatory environment."
OneVoice will be introduced to members in more detail at the WDMA Leadership
Summit in Tucson, Ariz., February 15-17, 2009.
