Business Bureau Honors Thompson Creek Manufacturing
Greater Maryland honored Thompson Creek Manufacturing recently, a window
manufacturing and home remodeling company, with a 2008 BBB Torch Award
for Marketplace Ethics. The Torch Award pays tribute to businesses that
exhibit extraordinarily high standards of honesty and integrity toward
customers, employees, shareholders and their community.
"Thompson Creek Manufacturing has been doing the right thing for
the right reason. In this day and age, it's comforting to see a company
strengthen their warranties and thus their commitment to their product
and their customer," said Angie Barnett, president & CEO, BBB
| Greater Maryland.
Thompson Creek was selected to receive the award by a panel of judges
including past BBB | Greater MD Torch Award winners and other BBB Accredited
Businesses. Rick Wuest III, president, Thompson Creek Manufacturing, accepted
the award at a reception sponsored by BBB's Educational Foundation in
front of a crowd of about 200 representatives from the Maryland business
community.
"Today the mission of the BBB is more relevant and important than
ever. Consumer confidence is falling in response to increasing distrust
of businesses and Wall Street," said Wuest. "Thousands of homeowners,
small business owners and investors have lost a lot of money through disingenuous,
often unethical business practices. It's the Better Business Bureau's
mission to help the general public to identify businesses they can trust.
At Thompson Creek, we're proud to have proven ourselves worthy to be on
this prestigious list."
