Soft-Lite Announces Record Growth

Soft-Lite, a window manufacturer based in Streetsboro, Ohio, says it has achieved remarkable growth and is continuing to expand and grow, even in these challenging economic times. The company is adding two warehouse and distribution centers to improve its dealer supply chain and is increasing the size of its Paint Department to meet the favorable response for its custom color program. It also initiated a Turn Key Installation Program for dealers in key locations, which has allowed it to grow installation sales 300 percent, according to the company. Soft-Lite adds that more dealers will be added in 2009.

Soft-Lite president Roy Anderson credits the company's continuing growth to a multi-faceted business strategy, "Our long-term strategy of investing to improve products, manufacturing efficiency and customer service has served us well," he says. "Our goal is not to just be a survivor, but to continue our success as a leader of the industry."

In 2001, the company spent millions to build an advanced manufacturing line, and the company also works to be a good steward of the earth. The company minimizes waste and recycles all scrap materials in plant.

Anderson says that the company has consistently made sound financial decisions and profits were channeled directly back into the company, and strategic investments were made for the future.

Money was continuously reinvested into research and development, and capital was carefully allocated to planned expansion, technological improvement and product development.

"We strategically positioned ourselves ahead of the technology curve when capital was readily available," says Anderson. "We recognized that era as the time to invest in the future. We're realizing the payoff now. Just like anyone else, we want to grow, but we don't long to be the biggest-just the best."

Anderson says that by making wise financial decisions during a prosperous economy, the company has positioned itself well to handle the current economic downturn.
