Seitovirta Resigns; Glaston Appoints New President and CEO
August 11, 2009
Mika Seitovirta, who became president and chief executive officer (CEO)
of Finland's Glaston Corp. in 2006, resigned last week. The company's
board of directors appointed Arto Metsänen, M.Sc, mining engineering
and mineral processing, as its new president and CEO. Metsänen will
assume his new position on September 1, 2009.
Before joining Glaston, Metsänen worked as president and CEO at CPS
Colour Group from 2005 to 2009. Before that, he served as president of
Sandvik Tamrock Oy (2003-2005), as president of Sandvik Mining and Construction's
U.S. and Mexico region (2002-2003) and, as president, market area southern
Europe and the Middle East (1998-2002). He joined Sandvik Tamrock in 1982.
"We highly appreciate Arto Metsänen's extensive experience in
the international engineering industry and equipment sales, which provides
us with a valuable asset in today's challenging operating environment,"
says Andreas Tallberg, chairman of the board of directors. "His predecessor,
Mika Seitovirta, held a key role in the development of today's Glaston,
which focuses on glass processing technology, as well as in the implementation
of the restructuring program."
