Pollard Employee Recognized with Award
March 10, 2009
Scott
Schlager, regional factory representative for Pollard Windows Inc., was
awarded "Certified Graduate Associate of the Year" by the National
Association of Home Builders at the recent International Builders' Show.
"Scott has always been an advocate for choice in housing, economic
growth and quality of life in our community," says Joe McIvor, executive
vice president of the Buffalo Niagara Builders Association. "It's
always great to see when the national spotlight shines positively on one
of our local members, which ultimately reflects well on Western New York
and our industry."
Only one Certified Graduate Associate member is awarded each year, which
honors outstanding leadership and achievement in the building industry.
A Certified Graduate Associate is a professional designation offered by
the National Association of Home Builders for its members who support
the building industry through product manufacturing, supply, distribution
of products and services. This designation is earned by taking various
courses offered by state and local home builders' associations and at
national building events. Schlager is an active member of the Buffalo
Niagara Builders Association (BNBA) and has served on their board of directors.
He currently serves as associate vice president of the New York State
Builders Association (NYSBA). Both organizations are affiliated with the
National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
In addition to the CGA of the Year award, Schlager also was awarded NAHB's
Certified Green Professional (CGP) designation. The CGP is an exclusive
designation offered by the NAHB to teach professionals strategies for
incorporating green building principles into home using cost-effective
options.
