Overly Door Company Selects BuyDesign® to Generate 3D CAD Models

TDCI Inc., a provider of configurator-based software solutions, has announced that Overly Door Co., a manufacturer of acoustical, blast and bullet resistant, radiation shielding and GSA vault doors, has selected BuyDesign Flex3D as an extension to the product configurator in the company's Infor ERP SyteLine 8 business system, which is based on the BuyDesign product configurator.

BuyDesign Flex3D works with the configurator and parametric 3D CAD models to generate configuration-specific models based on features, options, and dimensions specified during configuration. Detail drawings and manufacturing information can then be generated from those models using standard CAD capabilities. Overly Door will use BuyDesign Configurator and Flex3D with its PRO/Engineer 3D CAD system to generate detail drawings and CNC data to drive manufacturing of orders for the company's line of configure-to-order products.

"BuyDesign Configurator and Flex3D along with SyteLine will significantly streamline our order-to-manufacture cycle," says Chuck Baugh, Overly Door Co. chief operating officer. "We've been using PRO/E models to generate manufacturing drawings and CNC data for some time, but this will eliminate the manual process we had to follow with our previous systems."
