Accu-Weld Hosts Energy Forum at its Facility
September 22, 2009

Accu-Weld, based in Bensalem, Pa., hosted some high-level officials at its door and window plant last week for a town hall style forum on the economy. Those in attendance included Pennsylvania Gov. Edward Rendell, Delaware Gov. Jack Markell, Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, White House Senior Counselor for Manufacturing Policy Ron Bloom and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy Amanda Dory.

"Our family believes in the opportunity to advance the energy efficiency of windows and doors based on the proven and tested manufacturing techniques developed here over the past 28 years," said John Haddon, Accu-Weld president. "Accu-Weld represents the growing market with our Green Collar jobs and our highly energy-efficient windows and doors."

Sam Jadallah, Accu-Weld chair, added that energy efficiency, being green, and American labor are core values at Accu-Weld.

"We are excited about our pipeline of energy-efficient products and market rebound driven by the Stimulus Act," he said. "Without a doubt, the stimulus act got homeowners to replace old windows with new high-performance ones and that new business was critical to our success this year. Simply put, the stimulus act saved jobs in our working town."
